Last night I got some stunning news.  Miss C is leaving for another job!  I cannot wait to be rid of her!  She was a pain in the backside all last night.  She thinks she is a supervisor and keeps trying to lie to me that she is.  Well, I have a month or so left of her, and then I am rid of her.  And I just know that whoever they get to replace her cannot be as bad as she is.  Or at the very least, they cannot be as slow and lazy as she is.  Right now she couldn't get any lazier or slower than she is now.  Nor could she get any more arrogant.  Prime example was tonight.  She had the main sandwich cage, which is an absolute breeze.  I chose to work the meat and produce.  I did it in 15 minutes, then finished off the 2nd cage which she hadn't even touched.  Then when I decided to begin working the ambient, Miss C yells at me to stop what I am doing and to tidy up the area.  The tidying consisted of moving a dolly out onto the forecourt, moving a cardboard cage, and putting one tray of overs into the chiller.  So I commented that I had done the dolly and two cages opposed to her one, which she was still finishing.  And then she hit me with it.  I mentioned that perhaps she could tidy the stuff whilst I concentrated on the ambient as I had done 2 cages and a dolly opposed to her not even finishing one cage yet.  She replied with "Yes, but your cages were small, mine was large".  Yeah, and stuffed full with sandwiches.  That set me off.  I was so angry and refused to speak to her for the rest of the shift, unless I upset her with some cutting remarks.  I will elaborate later...

And one of our stores was in the news last night too...for all the wrong reasons (ours is about to too if Miss C actually does what she claims she is going to).  Apparently our store in Wimbourne was on fire!  Fortunately Winbourne doesn't have a forecourt, so nobody got hurt, but apparently 50 firefighters had to tackle the fire in their warehouse.  Now, I bet we get the overspill, because no warehouse means no stock, and no stock means no shop.  So they are going to have to investigate and get it all sorted out.  Yay.  The only good thing will be if we get a ton of nightshift come our way.  I'll love this.  I do have a theory that I can turn any coffee drinking member of staff into a crazy, fired up nightshift member via my "special" coffee.  My special coffee is basically coffee which is twice as strong as a regular cup of coffee with a lot of sugar in it.  And you know what?  It works.  Turns anyone into a tazmanian devil once it kicks in.

Last night we had a lot of staff from the Ringwood store come down and look over our store.  And what was really galling is that they were acting like a team.  They weren't working, they were socialising, apparently from different shifts, and they were still a team.  If I am 100% honest, despite the days out, despite the barbques we are going to be having soon, I cannot ever see us working as a team.  The problem is that the dayshift are so stuck in their ways of telling people that the nightshift do nothing, because they never work nights.  And the nightshift never work days, so we always complain that the dayshift don't do anything.  This said, I have worked a dayshift and what they do increases 100% when they are having one of the higher uppers arriving.  Like tomorrow....

Now, you would think that when the rain is lashing down that customers wouldn't think about coming out and buying random tat from us.  So wrong.  We were absolutely dead whilst it was bone dry.  And then the heavens opened.  Seriously, the forecourt flooded in about 20 minutes (our drains kick ass so when the rain eased, the flooding was gone in minutes) but we had more customers when it was raining than when it was dry.  And the really odd thing was that they were wearing summer stuff!  It wasn't that nice before it rained.  We even had one guy come in wearing what was a glorified vest.  And no, it wasn't a sleeveless t-shirt.  It looked like something from Gladiators or WWE.

I said earlier that I was going to elaborate on my anger over Miss C's insults.  Well, first off she is using the "But I'm a girl..." thing to get out of doing...well...everything.  Like moving heavy cages which she once argued that she should do.  And now even loading the empty cages onto the truck.  All because The Blonde Bombshell told her she couldn't.  So she isn't.  She took 2 very very light cages into the store, leaving me to take the other 10 really heavy cages into the store.  Because she's a girl.  And she wouldn't get the cages from the compound because "It's dangerous!"  Oh really?  So, I can get murdered or injured, but she can't?  And then there is the fact that she commented that her cage was actually bigger than the two cages and a dolly I worked.  Uh huh.  Whatever.  It may have technically had more stock in it, but it had 50 cases of sandwiches.  Plus she picked that cage and still feels justified to complain that it was big!  And then later on she called me a two year old because I refused to speak to her.  The thing is, when I am angry I shut up, because once I lose it, I cut people to shreds with home truths.  I lost it with Miss C once and told her she was fat, short and unattractive.  She snapped back and said I was fat, and hardly Brad Pitt, and she had a loving boyfriend at home unlike me.  That hurt, and when I am hurt I get angrier.  And more even.  I commented that I am sure that her boyfriend loved the fact that she went from being a size 8 before she was pregnant to being a size 16 after she had the baby and keeping the weight for 2 years must be such a turn on.  Then walked away calmly and let that little nugget sink in.  She went on a crash diet soon after.  And this is why I keep quiet when I am angry, because when I want to, I can really hurt people with my words.  And unfortunately, I was still being a little guarded at the time.  Understanding psychology and how people tick is not always a good thing...

Anyway, the next couple of days should be pretty good.  I am working with Slaphead, and as long as I keep quiet and work like a demon, they should be pretty good.  I've pretty much decided to distance myself from Slaphead and Miss C now.  They are too close, and too interested in trying to push me out of the nightshift.  Not quite sure how you can hate someone so much that you want them to get fired, but hey, I guess some people have lower morals than others...
